POLE ART WORLD POSTPONED DUE TO COVID 19

12 Mar 2020 by CPSAF

A difficult decision has been reached this morning by the Pole Sports and Arts World Federation to postpone the 2020 POSA Pole Art Worlds. The event was set to take place in Canada on June 5-6th, 2020. This decision was made based on several factors. Many athletes cannot train because centers are closed worldwide. Many athletes cannot plan to travel because of bans. Some athlete’s flights have already been canceled. Of course, the potential spreading of Covid-19 through large international conferences is also one of the concerns. In addition to the concerns of the International federation, many athletes have withdrawn from the tournament because of fears or travel complications due to Covid-19. POSA is saddened by this global situation and urges pole athletes to be understanding in regards to this difficult decision. The Canadian Pole Sports and Arts Federation has worked diligently to place the athletes first, refunding without any hesitation (less any fees) and immediately following this morning’s conference with the Pole Sports and Arts World Federation. The City of Fredericton’s Sport Tourism department would like to thank all the supporters and athletes of POSA for the overwhelming support for this international tournament and looks forward to hosting all of you in the future.

WHAT IS NEXT?
2020 POSA Pole Art Worlds will be held in Italy later this year. A date is TBA later this spring, given Covid-19 is no longer a global issue on this scale
