YOUTH AERIAL SPORTS CAMP

This camp is a CPSAF endorsed training programme for youth athletes!


Youth Aerial Sports Camp is an overnight traditional summer camp experience mixed with aerial sports training sessions. This camp is a great opportunity for your daughter to take part in five days of fun that she will remember for years to come! Endorsed by the Canadian Pole Sports and Arts Federation and led by Pole Sports and Arts World Federation Master Trainer Ashley Wiggins, this camp is sure to be both an opportunity for your child to learn new skills but also grow new friendships. Camp starts with check-in and drop off August 10th between 5-6 pm. At check-in the children will be brought into camp on a hayride, throughout the week they will be taking part in various traditional camping activities daily, crafts, aerial sports workshops, and other fun group activities.

The camp is targeted for ages 8-14

(exceptions are sometimes made for younger children, or junior camp leaders)

ADULT ATHLETES TRAINING

So you have made the decision to train for Pole Sport Championship or Pole Art Canada, now what? The rules and regulations surrounding pole sport and art and POSA events can be scary at first glance but navigating the code of points from the level an athlete needs to understand it can be simple. During the athletes training you will receive some basic championship training advice from former national champions and also receive code of points advice from a POSA certified trainer. Some of the best sports trainiers in North America have also included some training advice and suggestions in our training exclusively for the CPSAF. Following training you should feel much more relaxed about approaching the code of points and how to fill out compulsary forms and prepare for championship day! Parents are welcome to take the athletes course with their youth athlete at no extra cost.

COACHES TRAINING

Do you have athletes who are itching to compete in pole sport championships? Are you unsure of how to assist them in navigating the code of points and the specific technique surrounding it? This summer the CPSAF will be hosting our third coaches training. We will certify coaches to teach pole sport in their provinces in order to prepare athletes for the structured expectations surrounding pole sport. As apart of the coaches course you will receive CPR and first aid training and CPR and first aid certifications. Upon passing of coaches test you will be listed as a CPSAF certified pole sport instructor for either amateur and youth athletes or Professional-Elite athletes. If you are a studio owner your studio will be listed as a CPSAF affiiliate. This certification is for one season and you will need to be re-certified yearly.

As a national federation the CPSAF strives to prevent injuries amongst athletes by only certifying coaches to teach upper level athletes who can exhibit an exceptional knowledge and experience within the sport.

What you will learn:

How to train Masters and Juniors Athletes safely. You will be taught specific spotting techniques for Pole Sport athletes of all ages. Global Life Fitness trainer and internationally recognized trainer Greg Johnson MS, CSCS, NASM-PES, PN will give you some important coaching information regarding LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) and also for adult athletes with sitting syndrome. Coaching ethics and techniques for understanding how to coach different players to reach their maximum potential. SAFETY! SAFETY! SAFETY! You will also learn the difference between pole art and pole sports on a competitive level and how to help athletes find their event. 123Poling has also offered a specific CPSAF exclusive spotting technique course for our new coaches. NEW IN 2019 we have added sections on periodization and more hands on training activities to help our coaches understand how to train highly competitive athletes. The course is a mix of hands on training, testing, cpr and first aid training and power point instruction. You must pass with a minimum of a 77% to pass the exam and be certified. You must pass the exam with a score higher than 93% to be considered a Gold level coach, and to be considered for the Masters training course (you must also have 5+years coaching experience or have been awarded the course).

Pre-requisites :

-You must be able to articulate a great knowledge of the sport.

-Must be a studio owner or have been involved with pole for at least 3 years

-If you have not been involved with, but have won a national championship in the professional/elite divisions against a field of at least 3 and have more than 2 years experience in the sport you also qualify to take the coaches course.

-if you have completed 200+ hours of apprenticeship with a CPSAF certified coach you may also qualify to take this course

-anyone can submit to take the coaches course by emailing canadianpolesportsandarts@gmail.com even if you do not meet these specific expectations as there is sometimes special and outstanding circumstances that still qualify you to take the course.

JUDGES TRAINING

POSA Judges Training – CANADAOnce you have passed the final exam and been certified as an official POSA Judge, you will be able to apply to judge the CPSAF Championships 2018 as well as the POSA World Pole Sport Championships.Each year you will be required to renew your certificate and keep up on the professional development as well as participating in a judging role at a national or international POSA Competition.

You must be able to articulate a great knowledge of the sport and all of the rules and regulations (in accordance with the POSA) as well as the technique behind the performance of it.

MASTER COACHES TRAINING

The CPSAF Master Coaches program is led by international master trainer Ashley Wiggins. The program is by application only to coaches with an exceptional resume and extensive background in pole, sport or fitness. The most difficult CPSAF course, this program is conducted over six months on an individual basis (some coaches may complete it faster). Master coaches are awarded plaques and recognized at the national championships following there graduation. Master coaches are a small elite group of coaches who exhibit and exceptional ability to represent pole sports and its future by helping to shape great athletes while upholding the highest level of sportsmanship and ethics.

ELITE ATHLETE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Are you an elite athlete hoping to accelerate your athletic abilities and gain certifications for your commitment to our sport? The Elite Athlete Internship program allows you to spend extended time training yourself through private training sessions and personal training sessions while earning valuable hands on experience through instructing live class of all ages. At the end of the program not only are you a better performing and more knowledgeable athlete but you have earned a national judges certification or CPSAF coaches certification. Because of your internship hours the training program itself includes these certifications at no extra cost to you. This program is currently offered at CPSAF Pole Sports New Brunswick in Fredericton, NB. Program minimum length is 2 weeks.
