POLE ART CANADA & NATIONAL AERIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
National Aerial Championship offers a breakdown of divisions, amateur and competitive. Amateur division which is meant to be a introduction to competing for aerial artists who have not yet reached professional status. In order to compete in the amateur championship you must not be a paid performer or have competed professional level before. Please keep in mind at this event we are looking for a performer- the best overall show. We are looking for you to be creative and abstract with your performance and encourage you to use fun props and costuming to put on your show. If you are a competitive athlete you will have no restricted aerial moves. POSA IS NOW AFFILIATED WITH WAAPA
The CPSAF and Pole Sports and Arts World Federation (POSA) scoring system is broken down into two parts: Artistic Section & Technical/Execution Section. Athletes will be judged in both sections during their routine therefore the athlete who shows the highest level of artistry and execution will be awarded the most points as a final score. This scoring system is used for Atlantic Aerial Art Championship and Pole Art Canada. The final score is a combination of the artistic section, and the technical / execution section less head judge deductions and penalties. It is important that an athlete incorporates all sections into their routine to be awarded the most points. This scoring system not only encourages and promotes a balance of a highly artistic and a technically sound athlete. The top three competitive athletes in each division for Pole Art Canada will move on to the Pole Sports & Arts World Federation Championships: Pole Art Championships 2020.
